Safety, Science and a Touch of the Sacred
by Louise LeBrun
Far too many are struggling with chronic, debilitating dis-eases that begin in the structure of our thoughts and eat their way through the tissue of our body We even have language to represent this notion, when we talk about someone being ‘consumed’ by a problem or another who has something ‘eating at them’. What begins as an expression of energy in the domain of ‘no-thing-ness’ makes its way through layers of creation to manifest in the domain of ‘some-thing-ness’, through the physical tissue of the body.
In our moments of being unwell, our traditional approaches – grounded in Newtonian science and allopathic medicine – encourage us to eliminate the interloper of dis-ease and to launch an attack on the body intent on forcing it out of our lives. We struggle with and attempt to fight off the often devastating effects of physical degradation of the tissue (see Emerging
Futures blog entry on this topic). Given that it is well accepted that all illness is psychosomatic in its origins (meaning, that it begins in our thoughts), we would be better served to explore the intelligence of our own thinking before poisoning ourselves or removing body parts. If I’ve learned nothing else over the last 20 years, it is this: fighting dis-ease will likely kill us.
Be it cancer, fibromyalgia, Chrone’s or any other manifestation of body; or whether depression, compulsions or any other manifestation of mind, the intention behind the dis-ease is always the same: to offer information that can and will change our lives, if we pay attention. When we are either unwilling or unable to pay attention to this information, the genius of who we are reveals itself in the relentless pursuit of our focused attention. It is very difficult to ignore the decaying of the body. And yet, sometimes, we would prefer to die rather than pay attention to what we do not want to know.
We are long overdue for a new and more powerful perspective that
produces the results we seek.. Accelerated healing – or transformation of the body – requires
three essential things: safety, science and a touch of the Sacred.
Safety: It’s an inside job. When we feel safe, we become willing to soften the edges of who we are and unfold in ways that are not available to us when we have pulled ourselves in and surrounded ourselves with a wall that allows us to brace against that which we fear. A sense of personal safety allows us to soften….to create space in our thoughts and in our body… and allow ourselves to explore what otherwise may cause us to run away or pull back.
Science: Without new information, we are destined to have the same conversation and/or experience, the same way, over and over again. New information allows us to awaken to potential we did not know existed. Today’s new science offers us, at the very least, compelling food for thought and at most, magic! Without educating ourselves to what is now proven about who and what we are, we remain caught in the thick, sticky morass of our history – both in terms of knowledge and experience. The new science not only gives us hope where none might yet exist, it also gives us a framework for moving through the world differently. When we become willing to do this, the results speak for themselves.
A touch of the Sacred: It has been said that we are not physical beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a physical experience. We would do well to pay this more than lip service and brandish as a philosophical flag marking the moment of our own good intentions. We already ARE the very thing that we seek. The question is: have we noticed? When we do notice and we become willing to engage with it, magic and miracles abound! Without this touch of the Sacred, we are destined to stay caught in the box of our own design, believing ourselves to be small and puny and helpless. Given the godforce that we already are, doing so will ensure that it unfolds this way in our lives.
If any one of these is missing, change slows and becomes incremental in nature, as we ‘struggle’ to fly while insisting that we stay tethered to the ground.
If you’re faced with a chronic, degenerative dis-ease, you’re one of those whose life can be profoundly shaped by new information, new experience and new discoveries. A WEL-Systems® perspective is not a technique or a process – it is a world view that creates a proven context for change that offers the opportunity to discover the new science that can propel your thinking – and your health – to places and at speeds that you would not have considered possible.
Not all are ready to discover the godforce that they are, in a physical universe. With this discovery comes responsibility for the quality of our own lives. As much as we might hunger for such a sense of shaping our own destiny, there is no place to hide when we are not fond of what we have produced. And yet, we can learn to marvel at our genius and move forward from each creation as a platform from which to manifest the next.
Life is good!
